You take a hot dog, stuff it with some jack cheese, fold it in a pizza, you've got cheesy blasters!
Oof. Yeah.
No one knows what will happen from here, and we hope for the best, but it’s shocking to have violently overthrown a government and invaded a country explicitly vowing to not only take no displaced persons or refugees but send those already here back no matter how bad it gets.

Blows my mind that some of the same journalists who see Trump as a want-to-be dictator at home are earnestly discussing the "challenges" for this same man to "bring democracy" to a country it just illegal invaded. Please grow up.

Two-eras: Pre-Trump and Post-America.
It may never have been true, but this is the formal end of any belief that America can reverts to its 2015 place in the world just by electing new leadership.

American hegemony was on a gurney and Trump just held a pillow over its face until the twitching stopped.

I bet the average American whose health-insurance premium just doubled would love to know the price tag for the unauthorized U.S. military operation that just took out a foreign leader they've never heard of in a country they couldn't find on a map.

This is a good statement that should be the baseline for every Democrat. The minimum.

It's called electoral politics, look into it.
Your healthcare premium doubled so we could attack Venezuela. Print it. Make t-shirts.

It's very clear he's going to attempt to outright ignore the midterm elections and we cannot let him.

As much as there is any plan, it's to steal as much as possible, as quickly as possible, and leave the military occupying a dried-out husk that the next US government can deal with.
Trump has somehow managed to not only shred the Constitution and shatter international norms but also betray his propagandists who were celebrating the end of authoritarianism in Venezuela, leaving the same people in power so he can baldly loot the country.
This uhh lady down there who Marco had a really nice phone chat with is gonna do it for us. Won’t cost a thing.

Are the bananas and tobacco going to pay for this one?
Rubio: "If I lived in Havana in the government, I'd be concerned"

This doesn't make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trump is asked again if the US will keep military forces Venezuela. This time the answer is clearer: “Well, no. We’re going to have a presence in Venezuela as it pertains to oil.”

His viziers thought they could manage him but Trump's final chapter is going to be a vortex of pain that sucks everyone in.
Trump has already threatened Cuba, Mexico, and Colombia now. This is going to get worse.
January 3, 2026 at 5:40 PM
This is going to get out of hand at light speed.
It appears to be getting dumber?
January 3, 2026 at 5:39 PM
This is going to be the boondoggle to end all boondoggles, but Trump doesn't give a shit because he's going to make a few billion and walk away from the smoking crater.
Don't you usually have to traditionally...defeat and occupy a country before you announce that you're occupying that country?

A college sophomore at an Occupy rally could not have generated such a grotesque outsized caricature of US imperialism
Trump: "We're going to have our very large United States oil companies go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure and start making money for the country. And we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so."
January 3, 2026 at 5:20 PM
Good god.
Trump: "I think Cuba is gonna be something we'll end up talking about, because Cuba is a failing nation. It's very similar"
January 3, 2026 at 5:35 PM
This is Putinism.
Question: Why is this America First?

Trump: We want to surround ourselves with good neighbors, stability, and energy. "We have tremendous energy in that country. We need that for ourselves and we need that for the world"
January 3, 2026 at 5:30 PM
Their plan, as it is in every case, is to steal as much as they can and leave the mess for the next guy. They think this will be easy as it's been in the other cases and they are sorely mistaken.
Trump: "We're there now, but we're going to stay until such time as the pop -- proper transition can take place. So we're gonna stay until such time as -- we're gonna run it essentially."
January 3, 2026 at 5:27 PM
They are having a lot of fun right now but this is not going to pan out how they think it is. This is a disaster that will make Russia's Ukraine invasion look carefully calculated.
Trump very openly saying the US will be governing Venezuela with the support of US oil companies

This insane asshole has been doing nothing but crimes since the day he took office, you're the only branch of government with the power to remove him and you're not even going to try because it might not work? Why are you even there? To feel important and do insider trading?

There it is. Iraq 2.0. Boots are going to be on that ground for a very long time.
