In light of Tulsi’s recent ridiculous claims, a friend just posted this old explainer from 6 years ago about the scope of the Russia investigation that I’d completely forgotten about! 😂 youtu.be/o-CCxLmkn-w?...

I'm not going to repost any of the insane antisemitic conspiracy bullshit that grok is spewing today, but it highlights how absolutely essentially is that we not let LLMs become a form of epistemic grounding for our society.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

With this vote, Congress makes ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency in history, with more money per year at its disposal over the next four years than the budgets of the FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshals, and Bureau of Prisons combined.

The more people understand that the better. Though I think we are past the point of return
"Our political system is ... no longer serv[ing] the people. [T]he U.S. is seemingly becoming just another country with a corrupt strongman personalizing and profiting from power.
[Just like] Putin ... creating a system in which the nation’s interests became indistinguishable from its leader’s."

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

While what’s happening in the country reminds horror movie, it escapes my mind how SILLY are these idiots. The speedrun dictatorship program is speedrun because of that.
tl;dr — this EO co-opts the language of open science to implement a system of political control wherein presidential appointees are given broad latitude to designate any number of reasonable scientific activities and inferences as scientific misconduct, and to penalize those involved accordingly.
