Conversion therapy is NOT THERAPY. It is not recognized therapeutic or ethical by the APA or the ACA.
Nobody needs the abusive and debunked “treatment” known as conversion therapy—and LGBTQ+ youth need to know they are loved and accepted as they are. As long as I’m in the legislature I’ll be working to ban it in Nebraska.

Defending conversion therapy is like defending the prescription of heroin for a cough. That was done at one time, but we know better now.

Govt regulates the medical industry to keep ppl safe. This is no different than any other modern regulations to protect consumers & patients.

No reputable medical or psychological association supports conversion therapy. Being LGBTQ+ is not an illness, and we don’t need to be cured.

We have been working to ban conversion therapy in Nebraska since 2019. With my LB 367, we could be next to ban this inhumane practice.

The Supreme Court is poised to overturn 32 state bans on conversion therapy and explicitly legalize the abusive and torturous process.

They don't care how many LGBTQ people this traumatizes and kills.

Media training has gone too far for some of these candidates for office—we can tell when candidates are speaking to donors and not to voters. No more memorized talking points that actually say nothing! We want proof that our leaders can recognize a genocide when they see one.

It’s disappointing but not surprising that Sen. Bosn denied our request for a public hearing on the Governor’s plan to hand over a Nebraska prison to ICE. These are not questions that can be answered behind closed doors or in private conversations.
Governor Pillen wants to hand Nebraska’s Work Ethic Camp in McCook over to ICE without legislative approval, public input, or transparency. This raises not just ethical concerns, but serious legal, fiscal, and safety questions. My colleagues and I are calling for answers.🧵

Nebraska prisons are overcrowded and understaffed, and instead of fixing it, the Governor wants to hand one over to ICE. We’ve called for a Judiciary Committee hearing because the people deserve to know: Who will be held there? Under what authority? At what cost?
ICE LETTER: Thirteen Nebraska lawmakers called on the chair of the Legislature’s Judiciary Committee to host a public hearing into state plans to morph a prison into a state-run federal immigration detention center.

Let people move around in the world
It is good for us all when people can live where they want to live
Making a home somewhere new is already difficult enough
Borders do not matter and are not a big deal
All people have the right to seek safety
That’s it!

Well in NK they would not be marching that way

Marines did not enlist and were not trained to be used as Trump’s personal domestic gestapo. If your mission is to terrorize and intimidate civilians, your orders are unlawful, and your duty is to refuse them.

Marines swore an oath to defend the Constitution, and now’s the time.

This recent piece by M. Gessen is on my mind a lot. What we’re living through isn’t a pendulum swing, it’s a systemic realignment. Every day they push the line further and every day we’re told it’s too dramatic to call it what it is.
