It's stupid that we even have to fight things like this.

The benefit of bike infrastructure in cities is clear. Ensuring there's a lane for everything (cars, transit, bikes, & walking) gives people choice, and when those choices are more space-efficient, that frees up room and eases congestion.
Bill 60’s provision on banning bike lanes is

undemocratic
an assault on municipal autonomy
a threat to people’s safety
fiscally reckless

Voice your opposition. Send an email to the Premier, Minister Sarkaria, your local MPP all in one shot. See bottom of our post.

Ontario Bill 60: A Veto on a Safer, More Bikeable Ottawa

Covid is not over.

It’s still killing & disabling

Our “rush back to normal” has devastated millions of lives

It’s a novel virus. We don’t know the full long term effects, but what we do know isn’t encouraging

The good news? You can make a difference

Wear a mask. Clean the air. Get vaccinated.

Teacher tip: for ease of communication, pull a CSV file of parent/guardian names and email addresses from your student information system and import it into Google Contacts with a label for this school year. Add in addresses as new students join. Makes life a lot easier!

In setting up Meidas Canada we chose a microphone that carried historic weight.
We picked the altec 639 b.
If it was good enough for Edward R. Murrow and Buddy Holly,
it was good enough for resistance to gangster fascism.
This is an original mic and has never been used.

Today's plague poem sounds like it's for you @charlieangus104.bsky.social
As we talked about the news
I told the old punk
that these dark times
are making my head and
my heart ache,
and after a moment
the old punk replied:
if these dark times
are making your head and
your heart ache
it’s just proof
that your head and your heart
are still working.
