The only political split that matters - feed everyone on the off chance one person is hungry, or feed no one on the off chance someone undeserving might get fed

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

I keep thinking about this. If they wanted people to have better, stronger relationships, Meta would 100% be able to help. Maybe by having a separate close friends feed, or by having the algorithm incentivize quiet posters and people you know IRL. They *choose* not to do that.
Mark Zuckerberg says Meta's chatbots will supplement your real friends: "The average American has fewer than 3 friends ... but has demand for ... 15 friends" (h/t x.com/romanhelmetg...)

I appreciate Bluesky for keeping me in the political loop, but as someone who primarily used Twitter for Bills content and Fandom spaces I am STRUGGLING.

Was taking a feedback survey and got to a question asking about where I follow their updates. Twitter/X isn't on there, but Bluesky is. 👀

I feel as if we're capable of acknowledging that a one-day boycott is mostly symbolic without becoming contemptuous and dismissive of people finding a little meaning and comfort in such a symbol. The scorn seems petty.

Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

There is always something you can do to gum up the works of fascism.

A story. Claude Cahun. The queer nonbinary French-Jewish photographer.

Nazis conquered France, were training soldiers on Jersey, where Cahun lived w/their partner, Marcel Moore.

They did disinfo & morale smashing via Surrealism.
