A really sad follow-up to this story — Alexis Erlinmeyer, one of the trans federal intelligence workers who was fired, has died of a pulmonary embolism. She was 31. Her family is burying her under her deadname, so friends are fundraising for an accurate memorial: www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-...
NEW—In late Feb, Chris Rufo published leaked chats between queer/trans employees at US intel agencies. Then Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said she’d fire all involved.

I spoke to chat members who were fired, are on admin leave, and who kept their jobs about the new lavender scare:
Queer intel officers targeted by top secret chat leak get their chance to speak
Chris Rufo published the chats. Staffers say a new "lavender scare" is upon us.

I want to remind everyone that the US has sanctioned members of the International Criminal Court for going through a formal legal process to identify international leaders who engaged in war crimes, making them vulnerable to arrest.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

NEW: A new, old type of lawlessness as Trump attacks Venezuela — and an opening for a better America.

The legal discussion is dark in the wake of the U.S. military taking Nicolás Maduro to the U.S. The path America is on today, however, is not where we need to go.

Just woke up even angrier. Impeach, convict, remove. Draft articles now. Either we have a representative government or we don’t. Do not shut up about this until there’s a vote.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

THREAD. Every year, I tell the story of Ezell Gilbert. It's the story of one of the most remarkable cases in U.S. history, and you’ve probably never heard of it. The story of what the U.S. government did to him is vital for understanding the current moment we are in.

Really cool how Grok gets quoted like it's a person that's trying to do better, but isn't held accountable like a person that just produced a shitload of CSAM.
