We've put a HALF MILLION whistles out onto the streets. Absolutely astounding.
Y'all, we did it. 💕 This crew of chaotic nerds has sent half a million whistles to people requesting them, for free. With your help!

Need whistles?

Nice to see that maybe a few Republicans can feel their Christian teaching weighing upon them.
“.. I’m sad for our country,” she said. “I don’t think that the escalation that we’ve seen, particularly in Minnesota, I don’t think it is. … ”

She paused for another eight seconds ..

This is right. The White House keeps looking for the “Kneel Before Zod” button — and seems completely shut off to evidence that there isn’t one.
the practical effect of arresting lemon et al is to spark widespread condemnation, especially since these arrests will certainly be thrown out. this doesn't mean the action isn't a dangerous escalation, it does mean the white house doesn't know what to do but spam its only attack

I know several people who have covered right-wing folks and white nationalists for years. I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous and hard the work is, how much of a toll it can take on their mental health, and how newsrooms undervalue it even when that expertise is clearly relevant and needed.

An M.I.T. study found that 95% of companies that had invested in A.I. tools were seeing zero return. It jibes with the emerging idea that generative A.I., “in its current incarnation, simply isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be,” johncassidysays.bsky.social writes.

Like the steam engine, electricity, and computers, generative artificial intelligence could take longer than expected to transform the economy.

Something not noted in the CJR piece is that Olivia often reported on the very worst cases of sexual assault for **several years** at the Daily Beast, including brutal details of mass rapes, cases inside schools and prisons, as well as many lawsuits. I am beyond furious.

Don't mess with librarians.

Today, at Law Dork.

And, if you're at the Library of Congress — including the Office of Copyright, Copyright Royalty Board, CRS, Law Library, or elsewhere — and get notice of changes or see something weird happening, reach out via Signal (crg.32) from a non-work phone.
Monday's lesson: Don't mess with librarians.
Ultimately, though, the question with Trump's effort to take over the Library of Congress could come down to whether Congress says, "Don't mess with Congress."
