New: CBS News seems to be preparing a new segment called "Whiskey Fridays with Tony Dokoupil," per sources.

To be realistic, this country watched as millions of its neighbors died from a disease, and millions more became permanently disabled.
A chunk of the population responded by making it easier for the next disease to spread.

Every huge and wasteful economic tumor will be greenwashed to justify its existence. Our economic dogma forces us to bend reality to the needs of the tumor when the obvious solution is to remove it.

One of my favorite things about this economic system is that it has exactly ONE logical end to what it produces: Garbage. Often, garbage made by forced labor.
It might be the most easily proven fact about this economy. But we collectively pretend to be surprised when it happens.
