Musician, Activist, Hiker, Music Librarian, "Popular" Music History Enthusiast.
Other countries are arresting people, including a king’s brother over the Epstein files. Republicans in Congress hold the power to do the same here but do nothing. The same republicans who wanted to arrest Hillary for a (fake) child trafficking scheme at a pizza shop.

They are led by Gym Jordan, a deeply unserious man. This is dereliction of duty, and their constituents should know
There are 28 Republican members on the House Oversight Committee.

None of them showed for Les Wexner’s deposition on Epstein.

Cowards.

I light of all of the CBS censorship, I think it’s prudent that it started out as the Christian Broadcasting Service, evidently they are trying to go back to their roots in presenting fiction as fact.

This dude has no business being in Congress. Nice job by Republican voters in Daytona.

There is no need for high speed chases regarding stolen cars. A bus hit a pedestrian because state police were chasing an suv through city streets in Rochester.

Remember, stuff can be replaced, people cannot.

Of course copaganda blames the thief, but common sense should still prevail.

Of If I hadn’t seen that it was an actual gov’t video I would have assumed it was one of those fake SNL commercials.

Satire is dead.
The US Department of Health and Human Services just released this video.

The best tribute to Jesse I’ve seen so far. Excellent!
Jesse Jackson intros this excellent album, opening with one of the best songs that the Cannonball Adderley Quintet ever recorded.

Why Gavin, while being really good at being anti-Trump, is not a real good pick to be a presidential candidate.
Read this sentence slowly:

“Gov. Gavin Newsom, crypto executives and business leaders are ramping up efforts this week to stop the proposed wealth tax...”

The message here should be work as hard as you fucking can to get your candidate to win the primaries.

The biggest complaint I hear from no voters is “I’d vote if they gave me better choices”

The ‘they’ in this statement is primary voters.

Take control!
We are told "on here" that if you vote for whoever wins the Democratic primary in 2028 it is an unforgivable betrayal of all trans people.
This is not the case.
Trans people, like all people, are not a monolith.
And NO candidate who wins the Dem primary will be "as bad or worse" than JD Vance.
Elder trans here living in CA. I'll do all I can to make sure someone better is the nominee but w/o question will vote for him if he is. Your last sentence is an absolute lie, completely divorced from reality. You aren't doing any trans person favors peddling this bs. YOU are hurting us.

The racism is out in the open
Trump referring to the first Black President and First Lady in the history of the USA as apes is not a distraction. It is a major news story once again emphasizing how fundamental racism is to this administration and the Republican Party and conservative movement.

And right now media is ignoring.

An excellent article by LZ Granderson contrasting the racism expressed by three Republican presidents, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump, with what a @kamalaharris.com presidency would be like.

It's Night Floor and we're on HB 1710, "Concerning Compliance with the Voting Rights Act" part of our ongoing effort to secure WA elections from federal interference. It has eleventy-billion Republican amendments and because it has to do with voting rights, you can expect some casual racism #waleg

The American right does not defend slavery because progressives say it was bad. They defend slavery because racial hierarchy has been an important and increasingly explicit component of their ideology for 70 years. Read a fucking book.

MORENO: Will you condemn Louis Farrakhan's comments that Judaism is a dirty religion?

ELLISON: I thought I came here to talk about immigration policy

MORENO: It's disgusting we have a witness who will not condemn that. The fact we have a witness of that low caliber is an insult to this institution
we've reached the portion of the hearing where Republicans (specifically Bernie Moreno) are making baseless insinuations that Keith Ellison is antisemitic and demanding he denounce Louis Farrakhan
