I think we are going to have a Democratic-controlled Senate.

And all we will need for the leadership of that Democratic Senate to do is hold actual, real, impeachment trials.

As the Constitution requires.

Not the bullshit fake trials like the ones that the Senate held in 2020 and 2021...

This is why electrification means more energy security:

In 2024, ~81% of EU electricity came from locally sourced fuels (57% excluding nuclear). Just 19% relied on imported fossil fuels.

Fossil fuels are mostly imported.

AI is a bubble, but too many people confuse a bad investment strategy with the tech itself. AI will not go away after the bubble bursts any more than websites went away after the dot-com crash. The tech is too useful (though not the panacea the hype mongers would have us believe).

Kash has permission to fuck on our dime, just like Vance has permission to wine and dine the fam at extravagant restaurants, and Noem has permission to co-opt govt contracts and take her cut. Trump is generous with the US treasury, which he thinks belongs to himself.

Maybe time to disentangle ourselves from these huge platforms that seem to think theyre god.
The New York Times reports that the Department of Homeland Security has sent Google, Meta, and other media corporations subpoenas for the names on accounts that criticize ICE enforcement. The department wants to identify Americans who oppose what it’s doing. I’ll save them time.

Big tech shouldnt get a free ride in the world while they rake in BILLIONS from stealing our data.

No, they need to pay their "taxes"bto society, period.

War is NEVER humane!
Women + children always suffer the consequences, which can last a lifetime.
Some say AI will make war more humane. Israel’s war in Gaza shows the opposite.

AI nudges us to prioritize speed and scale. In Gaza, it’s turbocharging mass bombing.

There are millions of responsible seniors driving whose cognition is as good as anyones.
In 🇨🇦 we have driver tests for seniors to pass in order to keep driving.

IMHO, this⤵️ is just blatant ageism, discrimination!

+ yes anyone who kills a carload of people, family or not, should do jailtime
Call me a carceral urbanist but I think that you should have to go to jail if you kill an entire family with your car.

Further, we should hold elderly drivers in particular responsible for the their actions because we need to create a deterrence effect to encourage people to stop driving.
The woman prosecutors said killed a family of four after ramming into a bus stop with her car in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood will avoid jail time after changing her plea in court.

That is so cool
Beneath Berlin's Potsdamer Platz, an overlooked retail strip has been reborn as a bicycle parking facility and public passage connecting users to the S-Bahn station. Modest in scale but rich in possibilities, it integrates seamlessly into the revitalised entertainment, commercial and office centre.🧵
