Consciously cruel.

This has been highlighted for years & every single poverty porn/benefits scrounger documentary commissioned has blood on its hands for sheeting the conversation
Amnesty just slammed the DWP as 'consciously cruel' in scathing new report

"Lives are being ruined by a system that is cruel... the DWP erodes dignity by design. We are in a state of severe human rights violations".

Amnesty's words, not ours.

Fiddling around to maintain your tentative fiscal position doesn't look strong. It looks like you've made yourself a permanent hostage to fortune. Ruling out tax rises when everyone can see they're necessary doesn't look tough. It looks mad and insincere.

You have to go a long way to outdo the Tories on cruelty but balancing the books on the backs of disabled people gets you over the line. I didn't vote Labour this time because I couldn't support their total lack of vision but after this they'll never get my vote again

Labour is trying to force ever more people into work when AI, recession, and the demise of the jobs best suited to those with disabilities means there are ever fewer jobs available. When will they wake up to reality?

The choice could not be any clearer.

Do you push 700,000 people into poverty by cutting lifeline benefits?

Or do you get a grip on the extreme wealth being hoarded in this country?

This IS a choice, and the Government knows it.
Cuts to public services and welfare are wrong – and unnecessary.

The government could tax extreme wealth and close loopholes instead.

Here are ten tax reforms to raise over £60 billion a year

How to raise £60 billion for public services: our ten tax reforms
The UK’s super-rich have accumulated record levels of wealth in recent years, while our public services have been decimated and inequality has soared.

WOW. After yesterday’s Oval Office ambush of President Zelensky, Haltbakk Bunkers, one of Norway’s leading marine fuel providers, announced that it will no longer refuel U.S. Navy vessels, urging other European firms to follow suit.

The United States is weaker and more isolated than ever.

Reminder: we are being trained not to care about other people. It underlines the attacks on migrants, on DEI, on trans youth, on so-called "wokeness."

Sure there are legitimate critiques but this is not about critiques. It's about supercharging capitalism's culture of uncare.

FFS. How about, instead of dicking around trying to out reform reform, you get on & actually improve people's lives? That way you won't have to worry about whether you'll get voted back in next time around. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social you are unrecognisable

We might yearn for paradise, temporal or spiritual. But to our descendents our habitable planet will look like an almost unimaginable paradise. No tech fantasy, no space station or controlled environment will ever compare.
Fight for what we have. This is our heaven, and there can be no other.

It should be a no brainer. Unfortunately there are no brains in public health right now
The leading cause of all authorised absence continues to be illness*

Education should be a safe haven, one that is inclusive & equitable.

The current situation is unsustainable.

David Lynch passes away at 78 after a battle with emphysema.

He had stated in 2024 that he could no longer leave his home due to the high risk of Covid.

If more people would mask up, we wouldn’t have to isolate. “You do you” policies leave people like Lynch with no choice but to “just stay home”

Funny how murderers up in court don't get a lesser sentence for murdering elderly or disabled people & yet it seems it's perfectly acceptable in society at large

How is this not already law?!!
Foreign intervention in any area of UK politics should be banned & I can't believe this is even a debate
This needs to be taken very seriously. All donations that originate from abroad, no matter who is the final donor, should be banned. Only UK citizens should be allowed to donate to British political organisations
