I am digging into the cost of nonattendance at health specialist appointments, and it turns out that the most widely cited figure (o$29M/year) is actually a TPU hit job - based off OIA requests and with VERY opaque workings out

Public transport rarely stops outside your home or final destination. The first and last mile walking or cycling is so much more pleasant, quieter and safer with a default urban/village 20mph limit.

Want to end the week with something positive.

This will change Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa in ways we don’t yet understand.

Beyond inevitable teething problems and media beatups, there will be a sense of possibility. We can have nice things. We can incorporate good design into daily life.

Decided that rather than put in a whole bunch of effort finding out if I ever had a measles vaccine, I’d just get it done. Easy peasy at the pharmacy, and fully funded too! If you have any doubts about your immunity at all, this is a great time to get yourself sorted.
