Lots of interesting data at the Action Collaborative meeting on sexual harassment in higher ed—these data suggest leaders have a poor insight on their own level of inclusivity. The least inclusive leaders overestimate themselves, and the most inclusive underestimate. Quelle surprise!

Conducting tasks while receiving e-mails and phone calls reduces a worker’s IQ by about ten points relative to working in uninterrupted quiet. That is equivalent to losing a night’s sleep, and twice as debilitating as using marijuana.
Are digital distractions harming labour productivity?
The evidence is mixed; it seems clear, however, that they are making us unhappier

As a German I will forever be grateful to all who fought for the liberation of Europe.

But as a historian I am looking at front pages today and must wonder: What is the point of remembering #VEDay 80 years on, what is the point of our thanks, when we are failing to protect the sacrifices made? 🧵

An anniversary worth marking.

I'm sure we're going to see the very people who have trashed its legacy seek to appropriate WW2 today - so let's remember what was really fought for: peace, a more united Europe, a land fit for heroes (mark 2) and the defeat of fascism.

Ontario is having a major Measles outbreak. >1200 cases this year so far (chart is outdated by 3 weeks)

Why? Vaccination rates at 7 years old are only 70%, and 30% for age 5. Expect these case numbers to skyrocket 😞
