I’m back covering City Hall for the Toronto Star, and for my first story I answered a question that has been bugging me for months: www.thestar.com/news/gta/tor...
Toronto’s recycling of this baby item is groundbreaking. Why haven’t other cities adopted it?
Toronto estimates as much as seven per cent of household organic waste diverted from landfill is diapers and sanitary products — about 854 tonnes a year.

I’ve been helping newcomers in public libraries for 20 years and these are two things I know: moving to Canada as an immigrant or refugee is a lot of paperwork and even more emotional labour. Also immigrants and refugees make our cities more interesting and excellent places.

TLDR: Ben Mulroney DONATED nearly the maximum allowable amount to the Conservative Party of Canada — and is now the interim host of one of Canada’s top political shows.

I’ve got the receipts:
Jimmy Kimmel is a symptom of a huge problem: a concentrated media ecosystem beholden to corporate whims.

Canadian media struggles with this too.

Consider Global News' management making Ben Mulroney a top political host.

It's a worryingly partisan decision, especially given what I just uncovered:
