iRecord is really important as a repository for UK wildlife/nature records, including casual records, surveys and trapping, and non-native species. This is well worth doing 👇
Why use iRecord for wildlife sightings? 🐞

Built for the UK, it links records to national schemes, LERCs & the NBN Atlas—so your data supports real conservation & research.

New or rusty? Join our iRecord 101 online course on 2 Apr.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

Fungi can be so weird. Why is guttation necessary?
Fungus or a festive ornament? 🍄This small, spheroid fungus (Abortiporus biennis) was found on decaying wood, its main nutrient source, in an urban park in Nanning, China. The vivid red liquid settled on the white surface is guttation – when fungi excrete their internal liquid.
