Steve Reed has told Labour MPs to vote down amendment to the new planning bill intended to protect British wildlife and its habitats from destruction.

First Swifts, now hedgehogs and dormice. Nothing is sacred... just betrayals by this govt at every turn

Watching Labour MPs take a wrecking ball to nature makes me so angry & so sad. Their action tonight voting down amendments to the #PlanningBill intended to protect wildlife & habitats from destruction is so reckless & so counterproductive. People didn’t vote Labour for this 👇

Another fantastic Brexit "benefit" Another massive let down by this chronically anti-nature government.
You couldn’t make it up - this is the same government that promised to deliver significant nature recovery - yet once again they’re slashing key nature funding & massively undermining farmers in the process. Madness
