Out at Whiteford Burrows on the Gower on Monday, where I spotted this magnificent beast, the rare Strandline Beetle (Eurynebria complanata) – just the one seen lurking by a washed-up log along the strandline @gailashton.bsky.social @the-wildlifetrusts.bsky.social @georgemcgavin.bsky.social
This rare orchid, spotted a growing on a verge nr Chinnor has just been confirmed as a Lizard Orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum), a spectacular plant when in flower (right). Great find! @bbowt.bsky.social @bsbibotany.bsky.social @tverc1.bsky.social @naturalengland.bsky.social
