at some point we're gonna have to have a real conversation about why we're still paying federal taxes to a regime that isn't using them to help anyone, but instead is using them to brutalize us

Feels like a lot of the early breakout roguelikes were actually breakouts because they had ridiculously good core gameplay that benefited from randomization, but a whole lot of games since are random first gameplay second and it shows
some words from me on the creative stagnation of roguelikes, which is originating from trying to chase and double down on the genre’s current momentum with sequels and arduously long development cycles dictated by insatiable player feedback www.gamespot.com/articles/rog...
Roguelikes Are More Popular Than Ever And It's Becoming A Problem
Studios betting on sequels and spending years on post-launch updates are creating a wave of creative stagnation.

Has anybody managed to explain why Minneapolis of all places keeps ending up as ground zero for heinous civil rights violations? Like I grew up associating that place with casseroles and jolly football fans who wear shorts in December, what the fuck man they don’t deserve this

cyberpunk had one of the best opening acts of any game i've ever played. the idea that it should have been longer is just baby-brain gamer nonsense
So would extending Act 1 (before the heist) in CP77 make the game better?

1. No it wouldn't. It's like saying we should spend more time on Tatooine with farmer Luke before he got involved with all this Jedi stuff.

the thing i don't get about "athiests and agnostics" groups is that it's like having a "not wearing a hat" group where we all sit down and talk about why we're not wearing a hat. like think about who self-identifies enough to show up to that function.
