Something I just saw come up in a TikTok: Folks really do fixate on racist systems being driven by "hate" without ever reckoning or even learning about the many ways those systems economically profited the oppressors. Segregation and Jim Crow and White Riots were all VERY profitable to oppressors.

I was having issues related to color mode, so I had to change the font-UI colors to gray scale, avoiding using white.
In color mode, background sprites show through it for some reason 🤷‍♂️

To make the actual art process easier, I started making rule sheets for each character to keep me consistent throughout the process
Next is to make the environment look a bit more presentable
Alice Rules Sheet She should have 3 fingers and one thumb on each hand and four toes on each foot to match. Most of this boils down to “keep it simple stupid” as to not overly complicated things for myself throughout this process. The collar should end halfway up the neck, her hair band for her braid should end at her butt. Everything should be expressive but flat. Black upper lip. Monkey Man Rule Sheet Neck should be length of forearm at rest, though could extend farther because supernatural. Has 4 hands, each with 3 fingers and one thumb. Tail should be length of arm. Most features should be blocky and square-like. Fur should only be emphasized at the end of tail or in middle of chest. The only places without fur arm palms and fingers, as well of most of face excluding forehead and jawline (including chin). Ears should be butterfly shaped. Teeth are zig zags. Tongue length = head length. White Rabbit Sketch Sheet Most of the rules will be the same as Alice but mostly go unnoticed by fact that she will wear a mask.

A follow up to this⬆️
The whole thing was based on Alice in Wonderland based in a lot of Indian Mythology (mainly Hindu but some urban legends too)
Hopefully these designs will be easier to work with than the more realistic style I stuck with before.

Practiced hand poses have 3 fingers and a thumb. Sketches of the Monkey Man in magenta. There are 5 heads on the side used to practice facial expressions along with a few hand and mouth pieces for the same purpose. There are 3 full body poses, one at 3/4 where he is scratching his neck, then one from the front and from the side. The front and side poses have him hunched as that is his default around Alice, as the 3/4 has him at his full height. His hands feature the same 3 fingers and one thumb, but it’s important to note he had four of them, so it’s important to get consistent. A sketch page still in progress to get a better feel for her character. Here we have a battle child that remains nameless that takes the role of the White Rabbit. She takes on torn clothes, rabbit mask, and a spear as main features of her appearance. She is in a front face pose hold the giant spear slightly askew while resting the bottom of the ground. Her hands also feature 3 fingers and a thumb, as she holds various items with a tight grip. Her face is seen separately without her mask but that might not be a detail I keep A 3D scene that features 2 planes for the ground, 2 trees with a single branch while several have none at all, a vertical plane that floats below an edited spear, while is below half an emptied out cylinder. There is a grease pencil scene zoomed way out on a rig with a camera
