It appears to be a dark mossy hollow, but as you slowly make your way inside, stepping over dead branches, the wet sound of dying leaves under your feet, you hear it, *squeeksqueeksqueek* a tiny little hamster wheel in the center, spinning, always spinning.
What's your brain like?

1. broken hamster wheel
2. goblin filled caverns
3. agitated hornets nest
4. dark mossy hollow

Every time a Canadian government uses the notwithstanding clause, I get a little angrier at everybody who was over 30 in 1981 in Quebec or Alberta.
November 18, 2025 at 10:41 PM
Using the notwithstanding clause to strip rights from a protected class of person should get you launched into the sun.
Alberta just introduced Bill 9, which exists for one and only one purpose: deleting the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as it pertains to trans kids, denying them the right to life and stripping their healthcare away.

This is cruel, anti-democratic and anti-constitutional.

Every guy on Physical Asia: Their side had a *girl* on it, we should have easily overpowered them!

The girl on the other side: like 4 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier than the guy somehow shocked he's not winning.

Does anybody, including people at Ubisoft, think that a good response to "You used AI in your game" is "Well, we admit to using AI in the game, but the fact that you saw it was an accident."?

Can't 'slip through' unless you use it in the first place, Ubisoft. Come on now.
Ubisoft admits AI-generated loading screen "slipped through" into final build of Anno 117: Pax Romana

Definitely took a second to realize this wasn't somehow Catan related.
"Malort advent calendar" is already such an unhinged concept but every little window just having Malort in it really pushes it over the edge into something transcendently funny

And as I look at 270+tax for a Play Booster Box of the Avatar MTG set, I remember back when I owned an FLGS, and asking anything above 130 tax included for a box would get you called a gouger.
Bloomburrow, a Magic the Gathering set that came out barely a year ago, cost 400 bucks after tax for a Collector Booster Box. Avatar, which just came out, is 900. Get right the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

Now consider the effect on all those other categories when housing is so expensive that it's accounting for 40 or 50 or 60% of the budget.
Transportation costs are the second largest burden on American family budgets (17%), after housing (33%)!
To address the affordability crisis, we must create cities with abundant housing of all types (subsidized, social, coop, market rate) and make walking, biking, and taking transit convenient.

There are a total of 3 people in the office today. One for each hour of commuting I have to do in order to get here and then back home. So glad we were forced back into the office for all that in-person interaction.

That's pretty bad, but then I do sometimes remember that there is a writer who had a major character named Alucard, and when asked about the choice to use Dracula backwards was -shocked- as it had literally never actually occurred to her that it was.
I am reading a truly shitty 'speculative thriller' with mysterious non human stuff happening and one of the characters is called "Neil Amai" which I invite you to read backwards.

Reading, also a thing you do with your teeth, it seems.
This is why it's important to support indies, sink your teeth into them, never let them go, support them materially and through word of mouth. Anyway, I've tasted blood and now both women owning women and cannibalistic selfcest will make repeat appearances.
Your average trade imprint isn't really going to print that entire 'woman owning another woman' or cannibalistic selfcest or what have you, they're more interested in printing stuff that's kind of harmless (though even that will soon be censored too the way the Anglosphere is going).

So apparently rock paper scissors has become a fascist meme where paper (n*zi salute) beats rock (solidarity fist). From a game design perspective I just want to clarify that scissors (a tool with really sharp edges) beat paper. 🤷🏾

Why did this book just quote Tennyson and have a character say "Don't you quote Albertson at me."

Like...if this world doesn't have Earth in it, don't quote Tennyson, and if it does, attribute it to Tennyson?

Converting in steps is what happened to Canada, and why we have an entire giant flowchart for which system you use for a given task. Distance is in km, but height is in feet, we have two different socket sets for mm and inches. Weight of people is lbs, but heavy things are kilos.
