A lot of UK politics (and the global trans panic downstream of UK legal opinions and policy and media frenzy) is basically a full-throated advocacy of child abuse to stamp out 'queer traits' and reverse the 2010s gains in queer acceptance.

The frustrating thing is that gender non-conforming behavior in children is already policed. Hilary Crank being shipped around media outlets as an "expert" telling parents to crack down on their kids showing any 'queer' behavior lest they grow up queer or, gasp, into trannies, is already orthodoxy.
This is the thing, Hilary Cass can pretend that she's not suggesting anything extreme but merely by using the language is correction to natural course of gender she will be promoting various forms of domestic abuse by the language itself.

Why is HRT itself woefully understudied and underdeveloped? Because trans healthcare has largely been controlled by doctors who only care if you'll look fuckable to them by the end. WPATH can trace its origins to this too. We could be finding more methods and options for body expression but nah

the amount of medical studies done on your health and your kind of body is often low to nil. Cis women, trans women, trans guys, enbies of various kinds, there's like nothing. Viagra famously was found to help period pain first, but only got sold once they found out it worked on ED 2/
