izzy is interesting to me as a character because his anger and frustration is 100% justified but also he doesn't express those things in a way that's appropriate toward friends and peers. he doesn’t even see the characters as those things until s2.

Stede is a wealthy land owner who bought his position as Captain. There is no reason Izzy or any pirate should respect him. Its why I like Buttons so much. its bery interesting to me for someone with likely the same miles on him as Izzy to decide to put faith in Stede, to choose to see Stede
