He sipped at the beer between puffs on his cigarette, the smoke being wafted away by the surprisingly powerful breeze generated by the small fan. When the beer was done, he dropped the soggy butt end of his cigarette into it and put the bottle down by his feet. Roach slid down in the chair a little, the better to rest his head on the back, crossed his arms and let his eyes slip closed again. Just for a minute. He was jerked out of his reverie (not a nap, definitely not - he was contemplating the complexities of the human condition... with some light snoring) by a solid, wriggling mass slamming happily into his calves. He didn't bother to open his eyes, instead reaching down a hand and smiling when Mona shoved her bullet head under his palm after giving it a couple of licks. "Mona!" came Fang's soft laughing voice, and Roach waved in greeting with his other hand. "Move your arse, Mona, we've got puppies to feed. Like Roach fed us poor waifs today, didn't he?" Ivan's demand turned into a coo after Mona, having received sufficient head rubs from Roach, trotted back to join the two of them.

This is one of the spam comments that get posted sitewide, and they'll often use the username of an existing account - general consensus is that this is an anti-trans botnet trying to make trans people look shitty. The AO3 subreddit is a good place to see the latest/common spambot attack patterns.

I haven't seen this kind of spam comment on AO3 before. I think the spammer's goal is to scare/upset me, so not like those 'I am totally an artist!!' spam comments
Davechicken (Guest) left the following comment on Sugar Sweet (If Only They All Knew): Your ability to weave complex themes into such an engaging plot is something I strive for in my own life, and I am always so impressed by the level of detail you put into every single paragraph you write. But I have to be honest and tell you that I am deeply saddened by the fact that there are no trans characters in this story yet. I am pleading and begging with you to change this because leaving us out feels like a subtle but painful transphobia that makes it hard for me to fully enjoy the brilliance of your prose. I felt such a strong pull to help you that I looked you up on social media and checked the phone book until I found your address. Finding out that we live in the same state felt like a miracle, and I knew right then that I had to reach out in a more personal way. I will be coming over to your place this weekend so that we can have a polite, in-depth conversation about including transgender characters in your upcoming updates. I really want to help you see how much better your story could be with a more diverse cast, and I think a personal visit is the best way for us to communicate these very important ideas.
