Not sure there’s anyone I’d trust more to pry about Resident Evil than old mate @jamzy.bsky.social

Here is a highlight to entice.

I’m so glad someone else is making a seemingly good PC VR setup.
A Quest has been the default option for so long but I’ll go to Lengths to avoid giving Meta money.

I welcome Windows’ eventual slide into irrelevance.
The day I don’t need to install that shit to play Fortnite will be a good day.

NieR Automata genuinely might be one of the most important game releases of all time explicitly because of how it directly inspired DXVK, yes.

Started playing Halls of Torment last night, it’s cool as hell.
Vampire Survivors style gameplay loop but a bit slower paced, all with a Diablo 1-ish early CG pre-rendered look.

Almost beat the boss of the first area on my first run too!

I started playing Inscryption on the weekend.

Good article by @im.giovanh.com about a "cozy" airport security game.

Wholesome games tend to reimagine labor -and reality as a whole- as we'd like it to be: beautiful, tidy, meaningful, social... but why would there be terrorist threats in this utopia?

Fear The Spotlight is fantastic.

A horror game that’s also somehow kinda comfy (??) with some genuinely creepy settings and puzzles all wrapped up in a slowly unfolding mystery story.

Highly recommended for a spooky month weekender.

Wonderful piece. It underscores my general feeling that looking at The Reviews for a game broadly is not incredibly useful, and finding someone your tastes align with will lead to much more relevant reviews.

More people need to see that Crash Bandicoot watched Notting Hill in Sydney for the launch of Crash Team Racing in 1999. Go to the PlayStation AU Instagram account it’s beautiful.

Played this for the first time at SAGE and had such a good time. So happy to see it getting recognised in more places.

The wait to play it at home is killing me 😭

The craziest part about the PS1 Japanese port of Transport Tycoon is that it has an optional 3D mode that somehow actually captures the charm of the 2D isometric view, and that is crazy to me.

I got my house Ethernet-cabled up. It’s something I’ve wanted to do basically my entire adult life but renting made it impossible.

Celebrating by running iperf speed tests (this used to max out at 288Mbps)

Got to playing ‘and Roger’ on the weekend. It’s one of those games that uses mechanics to tell a story in a way impossible through another medium.

I recommend ‘and Roger’
If you have an hour, a few dollars, and some emotional fortitude to spare - I highly recommend playing ‘and Roger’.

I take it back. Australian artists are still making great music, I just haven’t been looking for it.

This post brought to you by Suzi’s new album Patchwork which absolutely rips, and Ninajirachi’s I Love My Computer that I’ve had on repeat for a month now.
Having one of those days where I remember Australia used to have a thriving music scene.
