I can't vouch for the Minneapolis Times, but the idea of hyper local reporting is a good one. I'm an East Metro person, and I think Saint Paul needs something better. www.linkedin.com/posts/david-...

It’s day 73 of the ICE occupation of MSP.

We know that the vigilance, whistles, phones, and community care that thousands of us have practiced over the last 11 weeks are what have led to the ICE retreat announced this morning.

But it’s not over yet. ICE OUT has never meant the end of the surge.

Yes, I am late to the party. But this is quite possibly one of the most perfect films ever made. It is on Netflix for just a couple more weeks.

The news from occupied Minnesota. The courts, despite all evidence this is a retribution campaign designed to terrorize, will not be of help. It continues to be up to the average person. #minnesota

This judge does the thing quoting the Declaration of Independence at the Trump regime then adds for good measure: "Observing human behavior confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled power & the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds & are bereft of human decency."

They are just sitting around apartment complexes, trailer parks, and school bus stops intimidating people. There's no targeting going on--they are literally patrolling places where poor folks live.
just saw 4 ice agents go up to a house and knock and within 1 minute there were 30 people out whistling and they left. we will not take our foot off the gas

Enjoy this moment, we all really need it. But we can't get complacent. There will be more work tomorrow. But wow, any even hint of good news is so helpful.
The problem with symbolic compliance isn’t just that they fall short of ending violence.

It’s also that people duped by the symbols will switch sides to defend the oppressor, emboldening them to become more violent and violate more civil rights than before.

The world is a disaster right now, but there are some good things like this video every year. Give yourself permission to enjoy something and go watch it.
everything sucks absolute shit right now (fuck ICE forever), but i am moved by & ENORMOUSLY grateful for all the righteous people who helped this silly video raise another $60,000 for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund. there is so much good out there.

Alex Pretti was already restrained when federal agents shot and killed him in Minneapolis, a New York Times analysis of video shows. The footage contradicts the Department of Homeland Security’s account of the shooting.
Timeline: How the Shooting of Alex Jeffrey Pretti Unfolded
A moment-by-moment analysis of video from the scene shows that Mr. Pretti was already restrained when fatal shots were fired, which appears to contradict the federal government’s account of the event.

No one action will end this, but all of our collective actions *are* making a difference - tomorrow and every day.

ICE out of Minnesota.

ICE out of all our communities.

Justice for all those harmed.

Move with love, with care, and with intention tomorrow and always.

Be safe, be warm, be well.
