Key message: Measuring dry bulk density is as important as measuring organic carbon content when estimating organic carbon stocks.
Shouldn't surprise, but needs to be said.

Good news from the Wadden Sea:
The gas platform 'Z1' (in operation from 1975 - 2007) in the Leybucht has been completely removed by the energy company.

They removed 2500 🚛loads of material. Some of it was used to reinforce a seawall in the area.

There have been efforts from some critics to suggest that the @metoffice.gov.uk weather stations are not good enough for monitoring climate change. Here, @edhawkins.org shows that they agree well with multiple independent datasets, providing strong support that they are, in fact, reliable.
