no one involved in this case disputes DULF has saved many lives. shutting down initiatives to prevent consumption of poisoned drugs leads to more preventable deaths. sad to see the law used as a cudgel to justify killing people through government inaction & indifference
Founders of Vancouver’s Drug User Liberation Front Eris Nyx and Jeremy Kalinin have just been found guilty of drug trafficking.

Justice Murray rules CDSA exemption didn’t include procurement & distribution.

“There is no doubt all of DULF’s actions were for one purpose.”

ABC caught spreading disinformation in support of their rubber-stamping of the latest VPD budget increase.

This while imposing brutal cuts to public services across the city.

These are the kinds of investments we need. They provide both construction jobs and long term opportunities. When we invest in corporate infrastructure we lose control of any of the long term benefits.
As part of Budget 2025, the 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 will invest $51B over 10 years to revitalize infrastructure — hospitals, schools, roads, bridges, water and transit systems.

These investments will create jobs, grow our economy, and build a Canada strong. 🇨🇦

Hey y'all, here's how to make BlueSky require alt text on your images so you don't forget, and also enable the option to show larger alt text buttons on images if needed.

Alt text is an accessibility tool to describe visual media to blind and low vision people. You should always use it. 💜

A daycare. Every day in Chicago. The state is not stopping this. Pritzker’s and Johnson’s cops have ONLY been protecting these assaults so there is so far nothing that is stopping them besides unarmed residents screaming. How many children are technically orphans now @govpritzker.illinois.gov?

District Judge Sara Ellis on the bench for today's injunction hearing re: federal immigration agents' violent behavior in Chicagoland.

If entered, the injunction will replace a restraining order Ellis entered against the feds in early October - which attorneys say the feds have repeatedly violated.
Now heading inside to attend the hearing proper.

The residents of Vancouver need to demand that the City Auditor conduct an audit of the VPD. It’s crazy that they are exempt when the VPD is the largest budget item and the consequences of the absence of proper oversight are so obvious.

it’s not just the risk of long COVID, but of immune dysregulation that leaves you more vulnerable to other diseases.

without additional non-vax protections, a child born in year 1 of the pandemic could easily be infected with COVID a dozen times or more by the time they graduate high school.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.
