This was intended to be a humorous dig at the ridiculous trends of edutwitter and in support of the OP’s point. That poster has now detached her post from it and posted a comment about bits of edutwitter she wishes to avoid. Not sure if that’s a comment on dual coding, or a comment on me!

In a previous school, the senior leadership team had regular data analysis meetings. These were scheduled on the staff calendar as SLT ANALYSIS, but the overview cut this down slightly.

Anyone who knows me will know how much of my life revolves around Twitter for around a decade. I wrote my doctoral thesis on it. It was an important part of the identity. At least, I thought it was.
Turns out life is absolutely fine without it.

I am baffled by the number of teachers still using X and posting regularly there.

My main take on Twitter was always: ‘If this was a pub, would I visit?’
I can put up with disagreement, rowdy evenings, occasional fights. But hard life rule: I don’t frequent hooligan pubs.

Lots of these Hard Right folk don't have the intellectual curiosity to seriously engage with the thing they're attacking. The King is not a 'bleeding heart liberal' (beloved of the GB News editorial imagination). He is a devotee of the Perennial Philosophy. He believes in the universality of Truth.
