A report that's gone under the radar suggests that trans people make up 1% of people living in safe accommodation after experiencing domestic violence, despite best estimates that 0.5% of UK population is trans.

I've thought for a while that there are two strategies that transphobic institutions persue that exist in tension with each other (often within the same institution). There's elimination and containtment.
You can't have a Gov. policy of caring about the well-being of trans children, while having a policy of persecuting trans adults. It is too obviously incompatible.
They want a policy of persecuting trans adults. So they have to have a policy of querying & controlling the existence of trans kids.

This. Getting so incredibly frustrated with the prevalence of it and I guess struggling with "don't use that language for me" when it's other trans folks doing it?
Why do this?
- AGAB language is binarist and essentialist
- it ties people to a sex/gender assigned to them which they may not identify with
- it can be used against trans people to deny their true gender
- it assumes bodily characteristics that may/not be present in the person
- it is endosexist

Removing A[G]AB language from your vocabulary is a good way to demonstrate trans inclusion.
