Part of me has always wondered if it would have been better had Star Trek VI kept Spock's apprentice there as Saavik, be it Kirstie Alley or Robin Curtis, instead of replacing her with the OC Valeris.

I mean yeah, it would be a major betrayal to Spock AND the audience, but that's the point.

I'm getting more editing done on the Transformers: Armada retrospective, and I find it really funny that all the characters go on about the incredible power of the Requium Blaster, but when we actually see it unleashed on an Autobot, it's pretty much just that it has the power to, um... kill a guy.

Transformers: Armada is one of the great frustrating moments in the franchise's history.

Potentially a genuinely great plot, some of the best interpretations of the characters, genuinely fantastic finale... but I wish they had just been given the time amd budget to FINISH the thing.

Aren't these things usually for, like, a century or more in the future? Not 25 years??

What's even the point?

"Our standing rule is: If one of us brings up using GenAI in any of our work, then it's safe to assume we've been assimilated by The Thing and should be burned alive by Kurt Russell," said a game design consultant in the US.
Over 50% of game developers now think generative AI is bad for the industry, a dramatic increase from just 2 years ago: 'I'd rather quit the industry than use generative AI'
The latest GDC survey also found that managers are more likely to use generative AI than their employees.

The bits of research into this led me down a bit of a rabbit hole concerning Saavik, canon and non-canon.

I knew that there was a plan (and apparently deleted scene, though its existence is debated) to have Saavik be pregnant with Spock's baby in ST-IV, and I'm glad that's cut. But it gets DEEPER.

I’m not going to repost the abomination that he’s made, but please know that Darren Aronofsky sucks shit and always has. May I suggest watching the sublime filmography of the late Satoshi Kon instead (the person he not so subtlety ripped off)? Can’t really go wrong with anything in his catalogue! 💜

I LOVE that Uhura Facepalm and Spock Pointing gesture in this scene.

Chris here. Going to be dealing with some doctor appointments and possibly surgery on my dominant hand. So this means we are back in emergency mode for storage and our rent. Will be cleaning up the shop again and offering up some new deals. Stay tuned. I'm ok! Just mad that I can't draw or sculpt.

Did you know that dogs in ancient Mesopotamia also refused to drop the ball?

According to a Sumerian proverb, “The dog understands ‘Take it!’ It does not understand ‘Put it down!’”

It really shouldn't be difficult to understand and yet so many hateful bigots or opportunistic grifters willfully deny reality and pin their troubles on a group of innocent people trying to live their damn lives.
Well, since @racheltaylormp.bsky.social leaked the whole damn thing, I might as well reveal the actual Radical Trans Agenda.
