Just got back from the communist rally. Amazing turnout. 6 people (4 after the schism and 2 after the split) holding hands and chanting "better things don't matter."
there would be no real concrete effects of an AOC presidency that would be materially different from a JD Vance presidency because they all work for the capitalist ruling class and not for us, yes including AOC. we don't need a different president we need a dictatorship of the proletariat.
This is about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

My earnest advice to you is to stop worrying about labels like "liberal" and "conservative" and think about the immediate, concrete, REAL effects of, say, an AOC presidency vs. A JD Vance presidency

I have negotiated dozens of deals in my life and not once have I said my demands are unreasonably aggressive and will result in me getting everything I want and the other side getting nothing.
The party has no idea how negotiations work
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

My conviction from 12 months ago that the US military would never fire into a crowd of peaceful protestors has been massively weakened due to the ease with which this administration has been able to find people to murder people on the high seas, including survivors holding onto wreckage.
This is the 38th time that the U.S. military has unlawfully killed civilians on the orders of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. At least 130 people — never charged with crimes, their identities unknown to their executioners — are now dead.
We are murdering people and it is basically just background noise at this point. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/09/u...

I’m suddenly reminded of all the winnable senate races the Tea Party lost for Republicans.

Homeworld and Cataclysm were unbelievable games.

The end of Cataclysm where the final mission starts as the “Somtaaw warship Kuun-lan” and the final cutscene talks about “Somtaaw’s children being known as beast-slayers” really drives home the cinematic masterpiece of that series.

An example of one of these liberal committee meetings while fascists are trying to dismantle democracy.

This may be the worst thing I’ve seen on Reddit. Someone who blames the US for not negotiating a surrender of Japan in March 1945, two months before serious discussions about potentially considering surrender began in Japan.

I don't know why isekai replaced ISOT (are they the same thing or is there a difference between them?) and at this point, I'm too afraid to ask.

While Bill Ackman is more prolific in demonstrating the stupidity of fintwit billionaires, we shouldn’t ignore that Dan Loeb has also melted his brain on Twitter.

Stories of what men in Japan would do to try to avoid conscription and being forced to fight in China (before 1941!).

We should have allowed more people the freedom to immigrate to the US before the war; many likely would have wanted to fight for us rather than being forced to fight against us.

We need some good WW2 controversies to litigate. How about: The Doolittle Raid was a mistake. It wasted 16 B-25's that could have been used in SWPA, deprived the Hornet aircrew of a month of desperately needed training time, and cost the chance to ambush CarDiv5 at Coral Sea with 4 USN carriers.
Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same

Was doing some reading today and was reminded that the Luftwaffe trained <5,000 new fighter pilots in '42 and '43 combined, roughly in line with the aircrew trained by the IJN in those same years. And, yet, we only talk about the overly stringent standards and limited output of the IJN schools...

There is an element of the “always fight” caucus that has no sympathy for federal workers needing to be paid or SNAP recipients needing to eat. Even if fighting is the right course of action, be honest about the sacrifices you’re demanding.
When Democrats folded in the last government shutdown—rescuing the GOP majority from itself and helping them pass a budget, giving validation to the Trump administration’s lawbreaking—the savvy politics knowers explained that folding was clearly worth it because it got the Epstein Files released.
No federal judge has the power or authority to make DOJ comply with the mandatory provisions of the Epstein Act, says Pam Bondi. It's unenforceable and meaningless. Essentially, DOJ is a lawless if not criminal enterprise, not a law enforcement agency, at this point.

I do find it hilarious that there is huge overlap between the people that say “a population steadily increasing in average age is fine and not something we can discuss” and “the political gerontocracy is a huge problem that must be solved”. These 2 problems are going to coexist!
This is fast becoming a serious problem for the US.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, US death rate will exceed its birth rate in ~15 years, at which point population declines absent a much higher rate of immigration. Not sure our politics can sustain that. www.cbo.gov/publication/...

Man, ICE and CBP have ruined DHS’ reputation so much that even TSA doesn’t want people to know they’re affiliated with them.

I assume all the “covid lockdowns were a disaster because of learning loss” people are out in force protesting the ICE raids in the Twin Cities since those raids are keeping kids from school, right?

Video from Reddit of ICE agents trying to grab the phone of someone recording a stop. It’s clear these are the thinnest skinned a-holes in existence and can’t imagine being challenged. They are going to kill more people.

There's no contradiction here. He flew a "don't tread on me" flag, not a "don't tread on us" flag. He is a REAL AMERICAN with rights. You are a weak liberal that deserves to be trampled under his boots. See the difference?
ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who shot and killed an unarmed civilian, flew a don't-tread-on-me Gadsden flag at his house, per the Daily Mail.

As a reminder, this a bill that condemned anti-semitism and expressed gratitude for ICE and was just a no win trap set by Republicans. So, on this day where Trump’s Gestapo murdered a woman, I want to congratulate people on again falling for an obvious Republican ploy and attacking Dems.
Hi Angie! This you?
