My legal practice is out of this world. Michigan Wolverine. MilSky. Veteran of GWOT-ish era, 2 different Wars on Drugs, and the Ever Righteous Eternal War on Ohio State. My views do not reflect those of my employer.
A tale as old as time: liberal arts major, poli sci/history specifically. So, law school because ???

Left to my own devices, I have smoked 3 slabs of ribs: two with a Memphis dust rub (1 left dry, one basted with a sauce) and one with a miso rub and gojuchang sauce. I probably don't need this much food

Turkey trot at work today. One of my Capts met me at the finish line...but he wasn't there for me. He was waiting for the Wing Commander (who was just behind me) to hit him up for a search authorization request. It'd have been better if he'd run the race and asked the Wing CC for permission mid run

"Nay."
"Who keeps saying that?"
"It was him. Let's get him, fellas."

The Air Force Officer's Guide, 1961, on the expectations for male and female guests:

Women: join in the cleaning that would be done if they had servants

Man: try not to piss everywhere

At a Sunday evening wine tasting a friend won at an auction. 6 of us present, turns out we get 8 bottles of wine. Ooo boy. I'm too old to do this on Sunday night.

Overheard while waiting to be seated at a restaurant: "if Bill Clinton is in the Epstein Files, then to hell with him too."

Just saw a driver stop on a bust street so they could pick someone with a couple suitcases up. Instead of pulling to the side--which was wide open, right next to them--they just did this in the road, holding a bunch of people up. While not history's greatest crime, it was so easily avoidable.

Not politics but what about (in fiction) a space southern? (Instead of a western). Tennessee Williams or Faulkner, but, in space.

"A spaceship called Andromedea"
Ecofeudalism (the first one to say "this is just Tolkien" gets shot)

Thinking about getting a coffee mug which reads: "This mandatory training could have been a CBT" and then bring it to all mandatory trainings. Though as a FGO, I probably can't actually do this

Saw a production of "The Wiz," and it occurred to me that Dorothy had an intense experience where she bonded with a group over shared hardship, and then just got dumped back on hee Kansas farm. Far from the optimism depicted at the end, she's going to have trouble reintegrating to that society

"A rule that seems the rest of the session through the end of the year as one legislative day."

Bibulus-ass tactics.
…a rule that deems the rest of the session through the end of the year as one legislative day.

But if there are no shenanigans in Rules, look for a floor vote to table the petition (which would fail) and then a vote on the DP itself in early December.

Then it would go to the Senate, and 🤷‍♀️…??

Should do this in that library that straddles Canada and the US so you can eat your sundae from another country
Eating a sundae with a long spoon is the height of decadence. The longer the spoon the more decadent it is. Ideally you shouldn't even be in the same room as the sundae

I owe wine stems an apology. I wasn't really familiar with your game.
Re previous post of mine: I apologize to wine stems. No offense intended. #NotAllWineStems bsky.app/profile/paul...
I probably shouldn't tweet this, but the viticultural pedant in me can't help myself: there are some fabulous (and in many cases very expensive) wines made from whole bunches of grapes leaving stems in

Are there people who can't?
Who here thinks they could eat an entire 8-slice Marie Callender's lemon meringue pie?

@polapetite.bsky.social doesn't think it's possible.

Recently had an idea for a ghost story where the ghost turns out to be the source of all those inexplicable pains you feel when you get out of bed every morning
Inwant more ghost stories where the ghost isn't a threat and is actually just a dickhead
