This is an important point. Working in the economic development space, for most businesses and organizations I interact with the implications of this have not been adequately contemplated.
Canada’s regulatory dependence on the US is going to cause us huge problems. Republicans have promised to gut the administrative state. We won’t be able to trust their regs. Worse, they will seek regulatory harmony with Canada. Business will likely support them, claiming an unfair regulatory burden.
