It is a common answer I expect, but it is what it is.

Been hearing a lot about Shadow the Hedgehog on the timeline today.

least crazy themoviedb mod ruling:
‘One Piece’ Season 1 has officially ended after 26 years and 1,156 episodes.

The show will now enter a seasonal format starting on April 5th.

man they really did frame this to specifically look like it was gonna be a normal game

If you enjoy video games and feel blindsided by Larian's embrace of GenAI. Try and consider this a good time to knock over those empty pedestals you keep around for "The Good Game Company (TM)".

Never be a fan, even if you like every game a company has put out. You will never be disappointed.

is that a fucking minion???????

Honestly, all this shit with Mark Cuban tonight is so sad. Why are so many of you caping for a guy in possession of staggering wealth, separated from you by galaxies in terms of class interest, because he communicates "kind of sort of normal"? No fucking wonder the rich get away with so much.

I didn't realize how much RPG design existed in the shadow of wizardry until I played it.

Famously nobody has ever figured this out. One of the wealthiest human beings on earth needs to ask Bluesky.
I'm here willing to read anything someone puts together that details how we can get from here to there

I'm all for universal healthcare. Tell me how we get there.

Most of it, insofar as treating any advice like it is universal is a great way to box your creativity in. It's how you wind up believing that a story should just be a deft presentation of information and plot beats.

"If it doesn't move the plot along, cut it", is always one I hated.
what is your least favorite piece of writing advice and why? 👀

Anytime anyone posts this in regards to something serious I wanna beat them so bad. It always feel like they don't actually care about anything other than being vindicated

I'm not a very block-happy user, but it always makes my eyes roll whenever people post someone who blocked them and go "lol got them".

Some of you place too much emphasis on this site as a form of bloodsport.

lol what is "the battle" exactly? not purchasing this game and being forthright about why? it isn't exactly marching through Russia in the winter my guy.

While we are pointing this loaded Epstein gun at Trump, happy for any stray shots to hit Bill Clinton in his decrepit center of mass.

Also side gripe: Wrong for Sandfall to position this game as being made by 30 people, not just for accuracy, but also because it diminishes the contributions of the contractors who put sincere effort into this title.
Clair Obscur is not an indie game by any useful definition of the term. The Game Awards aren't serious, but that attitude was aping a sentiment from many consumers that it was.

The studio loves to say 30 people made it. But that narrative excludes nearly a hundred other contractors.

Be serious.

Clair Obscur is a perfectly fine game that every single conversation around had me shadowboxing imps in the periphery of my vision. It didn't bring turn-based RPGs back. It didn't prove the "viability of indie games", because it isn't one.

I feel like a really serious problem with game reveal montages now is that visually they all look the same in a way that's way more apparent than when people said this in 7th, gen, and then also it's almost all cinematic trailers because the gameplay isn't really important
December 12, 2025 at 1:46 AM
CAN WE GET AN AUDIO ENGINEER AT THE GAME AWARDS PLEASE??? WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO THE CLAIR OBSCUR BAND?????
December 12, 2025 at 1:05 AM
I need to find the person back on Twitter who told me Baldur's Gate 3 undercut itself far too much with a whimsical bullshit, and this was better in the Divinity Games.

Not trying to police someone's preference, but Divinity: Original Sin might be one of the most unserious games I've ever played.
December 3, 2025 at 4:30 PM
I suspect this is rooted somewhat in the current conservative political climate. Inherently anti-art. But to be clear, this is something that was always uniquely a challenge with video games, which have always been expected to duck controversy more aggressively than other mediums.

To clarify, there's nothing in this game that wouldn't pass muster in an M-rated film.

There are people spreading malicious rumors about it, claiming that it is more extreme.

It reminds me of Night Trap, supposedly one of the most transgressive games of its age. Reality: Milder than Power Rangers.

Also, I saw someone call SEED-dislikers "tourists" one time, like SEED wasn't one of the most commercially successful and widely viewed series in the entire Gundam canon lol.
I haven't watched Gundam SEED yet, but every time I see a discussion about it, I always get wind of it from SEED fans wildly overreacting to someone not liking it.
