Is it common NSW Police practice to use violence against peaceful, compliant protesters? The large crowd had paused bc there was a bottleneck out the back of Town Hall. I was violently shoved in the back, as was a Muslim woman in a hijab beside me. We were cooperating! #nswpol #HerzogNotWelcome

Guardian Australia reporter Jordyn Beazley filmed this video not long ago of police moving towards protesters down Elizabeth Street in the Sydney CBD following the rally at Town Hall.

ICYMI, good coverage on "Jewish and Muslim groups joined forces" to legally challenge the Herzog visit.

The Israeli president is credibly accused of genocidal intent.

Does Albanese not know how stupid he sounds when he says "people don't want conflict brought here"?

Politics is about choices.

This government is choosing to spend more on tax breaks for landlords than on social housing, homelessness and rent assistance combined.

While you're getting smashed by unlimited rent increases and massive mortgage repayments.

It's quite obvious the state leaders see Albo as a weak PM, he comes out of todays meeting with no commitment from Qld and NT to do anything on gun reform, delays to the roll out of the Thriving Kids program, and hands over buckets more money for hospitals with no guarantee of improved services.

PM: "Australia is not in a position to solve by ourselves the Middle East issues and people don’t want that conflict brought here."

Says the man who is bringing one of the architects of that conflict here in the name of 'social cohesion and healing' FFS

Seriously how is he this tone deaf?

Albo will spend the next week defending this and ever-more closely tying his own reputation to it. To understand why he would do so, remember that he always - always - chooses the line of least resistance as he perceives it.
