I've tried this blocker (freedom.to) among others and they just don't work for me. Blocking activates my "how dare you" synapses, even if the "you" was me when I set up the damn thing.

I need a distraction negotiator. Ideally it would either have an allotment system or a simple delay mechanism.

If anyone in the MSP area knows someone who is looking for some vintage stereo equipment, I have a bunch of stuff for sale.

All works great, but we no longer need complicated A/V setups in our life, so we downsized to a simple TV and soundbar.

Also our vehicles will go back to being 1940's Chevrolets, and massive Tsunamis will threaten, uhm... not really sure what coast has that combination of plants.

Also notice there are no planes in the sky and no people on the beach because no one can afford to travel anymore.
They want to wipe out almost a third of the country. It’s got nothing to do with illegal immigration.

It’s white nationalism pure and simple. They’re fascists, and there’s no reason to doubt it.

Interesting thought experiment... If 2025 was a story and you were the protagonist, then what was your:

Core Flaw / Desire / Misbelief in early 2025?
What was the Inciting Incident?
What was your Antagonist?
Who were your Allies? Mentors? Foils?
What was the Climax and the Resolution?

Admittedly, I was more worried about them ending fair elections before I fully grasped just how stupid and dysfunctional they are.

Now my concern is that they won't even need to bother because of how stupid and dysfunctional their opposition are.

Winning local races =! winning the presidential.
It's kinda funny how every third political post on has some variation of "oh so you think there's going to be elections how cute" in the replies while the daily news is of Republicans getting boatraced in elections, manufacturing the reality you desire to be outraged about isn't just a rw phenomenon

Whenever we're out of this shit the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau should be built into an absolutely nightmare bureaucratic goliath. Increase the original funding by a million times and hire thousands of staffers trying to fuck shit up for business.

I always find it really jarring whenever I encounter a languishing creative who blames their lack of motivation/output on other people not supporting them "enough."

I just assumed we were all freaks who were in this for the love of the game.

Making the thing IS the reward. An audience is optional.

I reached for the same bunch of celery (I think it was... some vegetable) as Rick Ocasek at the grocery store early one summer morning on Cape Cod.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

This is that 10/90 split economists keep talking about. If you make >$150k a year (top 10% of Americans), everything is AWESOME. If you make less than that, you are struggling to even engage meaningfully in the economy. The collapse has escaped the balance sheets and is visible to the naked eye now.
An observation post-Christmas shopping in Los Angeles: places aimed the affluent were teeming with shoppers in posh outfits spending freely. Areas serving more regular folks were sparsely attended or deserted, with a startling number of vacant storefronts. Few pop-up Christmas shops.

Trouble.

The 2026 National Parks pass features fuckface's face on it which makes me want to vomit. Apparently it makes a LOT of people want to vomit, so a clever Colorado artist had a solution: www.thesageleafstudio.com/products/nat...

It's a wonderful thing that Biden did dick-all about getting rid of Louis DeJoy when he had plenty of opportunity to do so. (And yes he is gone now, replaced by another industry stooge hell-bent on destroying the system.)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

After having gotten all dressed up to clear the driveway, I decided I might as well take Zorro (our ~7mo temporary foster husky) for a 3-ish mile hike to tire him out a bit while Alopex took our two huskies on a walk of their own.

Very pretty morning to be out and about.

My first word was CHOP and frankly I don't care about the other two.

CHOP
CHOP
CHOP

...goes the Ghee-O-Teen!

And that's how we make 2026 go 'round!
The first 3 words you see will define your 2026.

VODKA
BEACH
NACHOS

I’m in.

I wanted to make an enamel pin to honor Nezuko, who tragically passed away a week ago. With costs being over $15,000, sales would help relieve some of the costs.

This enamel pin shows the loyalty of the amazing Akitainu, with the most famous being Hachiko.

Given the state of the yard, today's snow is coming none too soon!

Zorro has been a handful for sure, but it makes me appreciate Zeena and Tonttu all the more. I remember Tonttu being just as much of a disruption when we first brought him home, and he has come so far...

Plus, I will make some real improvements to Zorro's future placement by lending my experience.

Up earlier than usual on a Saturday to prepare for the imminent arrival of a 6 mo old Husky named "Zorro" who is going to be with us until New Years Day while their foster family is out of town.

Zeena and Tonttu will enjoy having a new chew toy, and probably the same for Zorro.
