It's so true! And among many other forces leading to this state of affairs (racism and Islamophobia) it's an important reminder that as far as capital is concerned Trump is a status quo candidate they're happy to support. Zohran, not so much!
as a texan i'll spare people zohran takes but one thing i think we're going to see even more of now that he's mayor is mainstream media shift the goal posts of what having a mandate is. trump had a mandate when he narrowly won but zohran has to reach out to all these factions no matter what

How many New Yorkers have a clear idea of what Mamdani is committed to? I'll wager a heck of a lot more than usually know what a mayor supposedly wants to do. And if you're a mayor who really does want to do things, and will need to steamroll a bunch of chumps along the way, that's pretty useful!

We're using a form of step therapy here with our elementary schoolers, by teaching them about classic memes from the 2010s to see if we can replace this one. Tonight they were educated about the lore of "don't email my wife!"
