Even if neither he nor anyone else of his family ever is kidnapped (and Lord knows I am praying this never happens) the damage is so very real. This 13 year old kid who loves to serve at church, loves his friends at school, loves his basketball team. And its all been taken from him.

I teach the kid acolytes at my church. One of our acolytes has been gone all month, his family afraid of the very real dangers that latino families face regardless of documentation status.

After checking on their fam, learned he isnt in basketball & switched to online school too.

If an elected official is concerned their conduct will result in impeachment should the opposition party gain power, perhaps said official should alter their conduct. Just a thought.

I voted NO on the ICE budget.

This budget fails to include critical ICE reforms like no masks, ID requirements, prohibition on sensitive areas, stronger guardrails against their reckless abuses, and more.

Let me be perfectly clear, I support legitimate law enforcement. On the best days, law enforcement officers have a difficult job. These people play acting as law enforcement on ICE's payroll are not professional law enforcement and only make legitimate law enforcement officers' jobs more difficult.

Kristi Noem must be impeached. ICE must be abolished. Democrats in the Senate cannot fund DHS.

Trump has created a militarized police force accountable only to him. These agents need to leave our cities NOW.

I should also note that I am someone who has humanities degrees and who *also* has ended up really enjoying doing a lot of STEM-Type-Work professionally: I’m a big fan of both.

And I refuse to play along with the idea that one is superior to the other.
I agree that it’s high fucking time that we stopped acting like we need to grovel and constantly justify the existence of some of our most incredibly elemental and ancient human pursuits.

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

anyone else feel like they’ve been grieving in some form or other non stop for the past year?

it’s at the point where i’m not even sure what i’m grieving anymore: all the people whose lives have been destroyed, the fate of the country, any sense of stability or sanity, etc.
