"No fucking AI assets" - a reminder that many good publishers that will disqualify any prototype with genAI placeholders, and that using it is at your own peril. Hooded Horse happens to be one of the best publishers out there at the moment, so this is a big one.

Did a simple thread with some examples of how you may want to consider framing and cropping your renders to get a lot more out of your work if yea interested in that kind of thing.
3d artist you don’t need to stick to the video sizes that are default, why do landscape when portrait will work better, why do wide when you have loads of empty dead space making your work smaller on screen? Make them square and make your work the focus.

Does anyone have any experience with selling art prints on a store like kickstarter etc?

I finally got a few of my pieces printed and framed, and they look nice.

But I think I would struggle to justify the labor involved without it being a bulk sorta thing.

I learned a metric crap-ton of facts about beavers for “Hoppers” but this is one of the most powerful: as a foundation species, re-introducing them to an location can restore an ecosystem virtually overnight.
2025 was mostly garbage, but there were some good moments.

One of my favorites was when a family of beavers built a dam in just a few days, saving the Czech Republic 30 million Czech koruna (US$1.2 million) for a wetland restoration project the government had been planning for 7 years. 🦫 🌿
These eager beavers saved the Czech government $1.2 million
After plans stalled for a new dam in the Czech Republic, eight beavers saved the day seemingly overnight. “At this point, nothing that beavers do surprises me.”

The skilled artists/devs with Ubisoft certainly know how to craft a stunning world.

I restarted AC Shadows (I didn't remember where I left off after launch), and wow, these environments are beautifully crafted.

There are a significant number of other "hidden" challenges that come along with these restrictions that most wouldn't think of. The weight this can place on a person's social/dating/professional goals is no small thing. It's not impossible, but creates a life severely lacking in simple convenience.
This is random, but I wish more people were considerate of the immense social challenges that come along with being *required* to adhere to strict diets due to complex combinations of allergies and other conditions (ex. Gluten, Nuts, Soy, etc), with attention paid to cross-contamination/exposure.

I make just as much about others art and creative things as my own. You spend less time worrying about what you’re doing on here as you always have something cool to share and it’s not a competition and if we don’t support each other then nobody gets seen any how.
artists! the social media landscape has changed so much in the past years. what are you doing to promote your art / get visibility? what's working / not working for you?

To make blockouts easier, I map out element separation with paintovers before starting the modeling.

I often have a hard time keeping track of elements, and having a map like this to refer to helps break it down into manageable chunks.

Yet another reason I'm glad I still wear a mask indoors and within crowded areas.

Alongside caring about myself and the well-being of others, this type of shit is becoming increasingly common.

2025 art summary! I drew very little compared to a few years ago. Most of the time I could have worked on personal art, I just didn't have the mental capacity. It's a miracle I made as much art as I did 🥹
