The Overton Window on AI Coders has shifted immensely. Just a year ago, everyone dismissed them. And now, folks are genuinely worried about replacement.

I feel like software engineers have their own “media cycle” of topics…
With the rise of AI Managers and Coding Agents, I agree there will be more jobs, but they will likely be lower in pay than current developer pay. Less human managers will be needed.

Which jobs do you think will still be high paying? How are you preparing?

I don’t think that’s how it would work at all. For NYT there’s domain verification that can be used by NYT itself to do verification.

But for, like, an actor without a web presence, the labeler operator would have to contact that person’s public representative or agent or whatever.

Lmao
I heard people wanted a million Bluesky posts? So I made an open-source script that allows anyone to scrape the Bluesky firehose and collect everything people post.

This will be a useful resource to anyone who wants to archive this data or train generative AI. Have fun!

A fascinating part of open networks & open protocols is the feeling of collective ownership (even tho in practice it’s still pretty centralized)

Leads to folks doing work that you’d otherwise have to expensively fund, like verification!
There are now over 180 Verified badges on Bluesky for reporters, media types, and celebrities who are Personally Verified by yours truly!

@guan.dk and I have been hard at work! More badges are coming!

Follow the instructions in this thread below to subscribe and see the badges on your feed!

VERY cool idea. I wonder if the reverse is possible too - commenting on an article shows up as a post?

Not quite sure how you handle anonymous comments, but in general a lovely idea
After seeing @emilyliu.me 's post this morning about using Bluesky for the comments section on her site, I had to try it.

Here's a writeup on how to do it, with everything you need to set it up yourself in five minutes.

Leave a comment on this post to test it out!
