"Content" is a blatantly misleading term to use for fanworks. Fanworks are the antithesis of content; content is produced for individual gain and consuming, whereas fanworks are created out of inspiration and the communal experience.

I'm lucky I had a series of young English teachers when Wikipedia became popular who knew how to check sources on there and site those, been able to debunk "Wikipedia isn't a source" clowns ever since
we have gone from a world in which we were told not to cite wikipedia because it was unreliable to a world where wikipedia might be the only reliable source left on the internet and we all owe a lot to the pedantic nerds who got us there
for all people mock it wikipedia is genuinely one of the wonders of the modern world
