I’m a fan of Purple Sorcerer’s zero level party generator has created the sheets for many a DCC funnel for us over the years.
For years Jon Marr and his company, Purple Sorcerer, have been supporting Dungeon Crawl Classics with an amazing set of tools to help players and judges maximize their game. And he's done all of this for FREE.

Just finished the two novel collection that is John C. Hocking’s Conan: City of the Dead. Absolutely amazing. Especially the second story. Five stars. Hocking might be the best Conan pastiche writer since Robert E. Howard himself penned the Cimmerian. Fantastic.

BBSes were the coolest. In my teen years I spent a lot of time calling local BBSes with my trusty Commodore Amiga 500 and 2400 baud modem.

Real talk.
I don't like him personally, but David Simon on AI is the final word on the subject.

In other news, continued our Shadow of the Weird Wizard game last night. Lately they’ve been plowing through enemies without much issue. Lots of whiz bang killer abilities. I think they’re having fun and the mood of the game is cool. But I would like it to be more of a challenge.

Had my friend ask when we were resuming our megadungeon crawling game again and that she’d like to get back to it. Schedules are a bit tough lately, but I’m hoping it happens sometime in October.

Thought I’d drop a proof of life post. I’m still alive! Life is kicking my backside a bit, but I’m around. Running Shadow of the Weird Wizard for my Friday group, painting #Warhammer40k where I apparently started a new Thousand Sons army in time to see them get nerfed. Ah well.

Yesssssss
A middle school I interact with is in a state with a school cellphone ban and y’all everybody in there is relieved. EVERYBODY. The kids, the teachers, the janitors. They are so relieved. Nobody is really uptight about it…except some parents.

This is the way.
A school near where I live used to be a warzone, and all the people I've spoken to there -- headteacher, teacher, *pupils* -- credit its turnaround over the past couple of years to the smartphone ban the new head brought in.

Just applied 6 slide transfers each to two different #Warhammer40k #AdMech bots. Only screwed up one and had to find another sheet to get it from. Letting them dry now. Micro Set and Micro Sol are your friend. After drying, it’s Micro Sol and dry once or twice, a dull coat, then weathering.

Lately I’ve been musing about marketing for indie RPG publishers. I was in a (non-BlueSky) thread yesterday with some more experienced folks and asked if giving away a small freebie product on DriveThru to build up your mailing list was a good idea and received an affirmative response.

Was musing on the differences between my #OSR #Megadungeon game and my published #RPG #Adventure group. The first is a sandbox campaign, with lots of choices, quests, and goals. It feels like an epic story. The second is episodic, like a series of short stories. They’re both fun but hit differently.

After defeating the serpentmen last week, we started a new fae-themed adventure in my Shadow of the Weird Wizard #RPG group last night. It’s our second expert tier adventure, and lots of fun so far. #TTRPG #NotDnD

Continued my Hyperborea RPG / Stonehell Dungeon game tonight. There’s just something about the old school survivalist nature of a megadungeon crawl that makes it a thrilling game.
