New from me in @newrepublic.com: “Primary Every Democrat.”

If the current crop cannot demonstrate they care more about democracy than enjoying three-day weekends, we should flood the zone and challenge them all.
Primary Every Democrat
It’s exhausting to watch poll-tested, donor-beholden congressional Democrats continue to be too old, too cloistered, and too bumbling to do anything as the government burns.

The 'way the Senate works' is that they are all on the same side and just pretend to dislike each other as long as it doesn't make the donors upset or the next cocktail party a bit awkward.

The original Dem demands were:
1) Permanent ACA subsidies
2) Medicaid funding restored
3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission)

They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today.

See Roblox hate, repost Roblox hate. But seriously parents, you should probably not let your kids use Roblox at all, or at the very least don't let them use it unsupervised.

Good to see that they have taken the years of research on why 'dislike' buttons are kinda sucky and just decided to ignore it.
“As users ‘dislike’ posts, the system will learn what sort of content they want to see less of. This will help to inform more than just how content is ranked in feeds, but also reply rankings.”

They hanged the people who got us the 8-hour workday.
If people actually understood how willing our government is to go to war with its own people simply for demanding equal rights, I think a lot more of us would be ready for war.

If you were to ask right wing extremism scholars where they see the biggest organized RW threats right now 'rural sheriffs' is likely in the top 3. My peers and former colleagues have been talking about this problem since COVID but it doesn't seem to have broken through to the mainstream yet.

At this point, if you are still defending Democratic leadership and the way they are 'rising' to the current moment I sure as shit hope you're getting paid, otherwise youre an useful idiot simping for a party that is equally as beholden to monied interests, just different ones from MAGA ones.

Platner's tattoo thing.
I can believe that he may not have known what the symbol was when he got it.
I taught about extremist groups for years and very few students were familiar with symbols like this.
But...
Why keep it? Why not disclose and get ahead of it? Why let the oppo hit you with it?

Seeing a lot of people giving the Dems credit for yesterday's protests. Important to note that they were mostly incidental to making yesterday happen. They've been far too busy appeasing their donor class by challenging populist candidates in Michigan and Maine with old ass establishment challengers

And despite what folks on Bluesky would have you believe, there are MANY ways to resist and protests don’t have to be your way

Counterpoint to all the 'just block the govt accounts' is that I've been waiting years to tell DHS to eat a bucket of festering assholes in a setting where some dumb fuck may actually have to read and/or reply. Can't just let an opportunity like that slip on by.
