Little tufts of moss grow in the edge of a stone retaining wall, and their little tendrils of - sporophytes (I think?) have collected little crystal orbs of dew. The background is just blurred out greenery. This scene is maybe about 4 centimeters long. So tiny and cute!

An altered picture of dewdrops on cedar needles in the morning fog. However, I used some funky coloring to make the needles blue and used the “liquefy” tool to make the less focused needles into crazy swirl patterns while leaving the in-focus needles and few drops alone and sharp.

The mortar lines for the gray concrete tiles in the lower half of the picture go in a sideways T that travels diagonally from upper left to the lower right and from the middle of that long line to to the lower left. The upper diagonal half of the picture is a tile made of black and white crushed stone.

My favorite part is the squiggly, swirly surface of the water reflecting the cloudy sky and the tree branches above, creating more drama on the surface of the water. A strange portrait of this morning’s sunrise. The left side of the picture features bubbly, streaky purple, pink, orange, and yellow clouds, with a tiny bit of blue poking out on the lower left. The right side features the black silhouette of half of a giant Oregon oak tree. With bits of that colorful sunrise beaming through. It’s not the whole vista, but an examination of just a fragment of the huge sky, and I just thought it was interesting. Hope you enjoy it too.

An iPhone photo of the star-studded night sky directly overhead: the south at the bottom, north at the top (roughly). It’s hard to find a place with minimal light pollution, and as hard as we tried, we couldn’t see the comet (definitely not in this picture). The phone may have managed to capture a hint of the Milky Way - a vague, cloudy strip stretching from top to bottom in the center of the picture. Two of the “stars” are tiny streaks - not stationary dots of light against the black. One in the center left, the other down lower. Those may be related to the meteor shower going on.

The weather is cooling off and getting wetter here in the PNW, but roses are still blooming. The lower, center left of this picture is a closeup on a fucsia-pink rose that is speckled with darker pink spots. It also has a lighter pink center. Another, blurred out cluster of the same type of roses goes down the right side of the picture, while deep, dark rose greenery takes up the rest of the left side of the picture.
