I hope the faculty AI likes reading 40,000 student AI term papers about how The Great Gatsby is racist, because that is all CSU is going to be now:

OpenAI and the CSU system bring AI to 500,000 students & faculty
The largest deployment of ChatGPT to date will expand the use of AI in education and help the United States build an AI-ready workforce.

curing cancer is woke now
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

“Will pay any amount.”

Feels like one of those futile pleas we’re going to hear from wealthy people more and more in the era of climate change.

Very excited to share final version of our paper! What forces shape evolution of cross-feeding among planktonic ocean microbes, and how does it in turn drive self-organization of biogeochemical cycles? These are the questions we explore here:

Global niche partitioning of purine and pyrimidine cross-feeding among ocean microbes
Global marine microbial marketplace for DNA building blocks drives biogeochemical cycling and ecological signaling in the ocean.

Temporal Changes in the Role of Species Sorting and Evolution Determine Community Dynamics
Evolutionary change within community members and shifts in species composition contribute to community and trait dynamics. To integrate when and how both processes structure communities, we estimated...

Interesting read…

IMO more important that we are experiencing consequences of systematic gutting/defunding of science by govt and private orgs. Smaller pie + more seats at the table = more competition and thus potentially incentive to go against moral value system to professionally survive

But OpenAI is going to scrape all of academia and make billions by plagiarizing it.
