Veterans protected our country. They deserve to be protected from toxic chemicals.

TCE and PCE exposure have harmed countless service members and families.

This Veterans Day, let’s honor their service not just with words, but with action. EPA must stop delaying the bans on these toxic chemicals.

Here’s a thought: instead of bargaining for ACA tax credits, Dems should demand that the GOP trade in tax relief for billionaires for Medicare for All!

This is how it’s done.
A master class from MIT in responding to authoritarian overreach:

Your “premise … is inconsistent with our core belief that scientific funding should be based on scientific merit alone.

This is a corrupt grift by the Trump regime. Companies and hospitals (many of which rely on H1-B visas to staff hospitals) need to push back NOW!
Now is the time to contact your employers and rally to protect vulnerable colleagues. The administration is demanding that any valid H1-B visa holders outside the U.S. (or their employers) pay $100,000 for them to reenter the country, as of Sunday. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

If only people had listened to the women - and voted for a woman - we’d all be better off.
Whoa! Only 15% say they’re better off financially.

Ben Bradlee and Katharine Graham are rolling over in their graves.
The newspaper that told the truth about Watergate and the Pentagon Papers will now “communicate with optimism about this country” in its time of rising fascism

If you pitched this level of hypocrisy and willful incompetence for a Hollywood movie they’d say no one would buy it.
NEW: Sec. Noem has now admits "last mile" disaster communications weren't up to par in the Texas catastrophe. But while bodies were still being recovered on Tuesday DHS canceled a $3 million grant focused on improving precisely those kinds of "last mile" comms. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/dhs-c...

There will be food shortages before end of summer.
Brooke Rollins on farm laborers: "There will be no amnesty. The mass deportations continue, but in a strategic way. And we move the workforce toward automation and 100% American participation, which with 34 million able-bodied on Medicaid we should be able to do fairly quickly."

NEW: The number of extreme weather disasters has jumped fivefold worldwide over the past 50 years, and the number of deaths has nearly tripled.

The recent disaster in Texas is a grim omen of the climate chaos still to come.

The Texas Flash Flood Is a Preview of the Chaos to Come
Climate change is making disasters more common, more deadly and far more costly, even as the federal government is running away from the policies that might begin to protect the nation.

While Trump defies constitutional norms, Congress remains conspicuously silent and the Supreme Court has abdicated its responsibility.

ICE needs to be stopped.
If you think ICE is bad now, just wait till they hire 10,000 more agents and open more concentration camps.

The Trump administration is literally stealing or destroying taxpayer-paid public assets.
BREAKING: A source tells me that the Trump administration has shut down public access to every single National Climate Assessment, the Congressionally-mandated quadrennial report assessing how climate change is affecting the U.S.

This is what you get when you try to access them online

This is a sad day in America when our highest court in the land says Trump can deport people to dangerous countries with which they have no connection and with no hearing. Utterly lawless and inhumane.
BREAKING: SCOTUS over liberals' dissent, blocks district court order requiring process before carrying out third country removals. SCOTUS's order allows Trump admin to carry out third country removals without the protections required—notice and opportunity to raise a challenge. No reason is given.

This story line is the “Do Not Look Up” of chemical policy - so outrageous you’d think it was an SNL skit, but no. Trump’s EPA is poisoning people in more ways than one.
The EPA cancels regulations to limit PFAS, rolls back asbestos limits, stops regulation of fossil fuel emissions...
Can rethinking laws on tobacco be far behind?
Unbelievable and inexcusable.

The corporate media is failing to stand up to fascism.
Terry Moran worked at ABC for 28 years. Now, for calling Stephen Miller “hateful,” (which he 💯 is per his own family), ABC fired him to appease an authoritarian hypocrite who ran on “free speech.” This will have a chilling effect on all journalists. Fourth Estate fails. Authoritarianism advances.

This was a real and important commencement speech. The one we heard at my son’s graduation was some vanilla ice cream about teams. How can higher ed send graduates into a world where truth, democracy, diversity, humanity, education and free speech are under attack and fail to acknowledge it?

It’s more than in conflict with human trafficking. It is human trafficking and it makes human trafficking by non-government criminal actors easier.
The administration’s “mass deportations” policy is in conflict with other priorities they claim, especially human trafficking. People suffer if our commitment lags. substack.com/home/post/p-...
