We don’t use generative AI at Strange Scaffold and I can confirm that a *lot* of other studios are not—whether indie or AAA.

Get outta here with this normalization bullshit.

Ahead of the release of Lumines: Arise, creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi believes there is still so much to explore when it comes to synesthesia in gaming. 👉 ebx.sh/Ti0r66

💜 Lovely review from UploadVR! 🙏🏻

[ICYMI, both the PS5 and Steam versions can optionally be played in VR if you've got a headset! And, you should, because it's an awesome way to play.]
Lumines Arise is the puzzle series' best entry, channeling Tetris Effect with its stunning presentation on PS VR2 and Steam.

Lumines Arise is out today and it's taking every fiber of my being to not dislodge my jaw and devour it whole. Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Enhance does some of the best audio visual gameplay juice in games, period.

Lumines Arise is breathtaking when it feels like you are weirdly conducting a bunch of chameleons to just go fucking hard

DEAD LETTER DEPT. + LOOK OUTSIDE + NO I'M NOT A HUMAN are the trifecta 3way tie of game of the year for me. i was saying to a buddy about them but im really appreciating these post covid games as pretty explicit post covid games handled in wildly different ways w/ diff perspectives

I recently played the indie game DEAD LETTER DEPT, and no joke: it kind of made me want to get a job in data entry. 😅

I could even live with the horrific eldritch nightmare forces preying on me from day to day. 😊

Dead Letter Dept really is an incredible horror experience, go play it if you somehow missed out (or at least give the amazing soundtrack a listen if you like dark ambient/synth stuff) #horror #gaming

Last night I went to the Puca Festival in Trim, Ireland.

It's all fun and games until someone unleashes a giant demonic hare.

I bought this game purely for the ambiance and I'm happy to say that makes it a fantastic experience. If you're on the edge, try the excellent demo.

DEAD LETTER DEPT. is in this article for a blip
I did some good writing for Rogue this past week! This one is pay-walled but I spoke to horror devs and horror author @scumbelievable.bsky.social about the growing trend of economic horror as a sub-genre in gaming
Proving once again that there's nothing scarier than an unexpected letter from your insurance provider.

Played through Dead Letter Dept. (currently on sale!) and it was such a different type of game. I can't do most horror games, but this one was just creepy enough to spook me whilst not being over-the-top scary.

Definitely recommend if you want something unique! Multiple endings, too.

The ending of every episode of Tales From the Darkside is always the creepiest part for me.

The ominous music + that narrator with his gurgling warbling voice, it does things to me.

One of the great unsung / underseen horror movies is Paperhouse (1988). It's very close to a masterpiece. A young girl, ill with a fever, finds that whatever she draws is manifested into the empty fields of her dreams, exactly as she drew it. Unfortunately, this is not all it's cracked up to be...
