looked through a huge pile of my middle-high school art with friends tonight. really enjoyed drawing 1. the same character over and over in the same pose 2. huge layouts of mazelike underground bases 3. hyperspecific & highly recurring details and elements copied from my favorite medias

I think the bits of negative reception around iron lung in particular are so odd both in a movie way and in a meta way. A movie is not flawed due to the mere existence of its filmmaking techniques nor the way it tells its story. Get back to me when you're not being a surface level hater ok
critic reviews say "this movie is bad" and the bad part is like, the existence of any ambiguity / slow pacing / horror elements rather than like, judgement on a films ability to convey & execute a given concept as well as the cogency of said concept

the critics reviewing this and giving it shit have their heads screwed on wrong this movie is fucking awesome. skill issue. it is both a great piece of cinema from a directing/writing perspective and a very fun adaptation of the game. Also you get to look at a beautiful man for two hours
