Apropos of absolutely nothing: there’s a Schitt’s Creek gif for any moment/emotion.

Just so it’s clear, Cook would be in prison if he lived in Saudi Arabia
Tim Cook, the head of Apple, is having a nice dinner with MBS, who regularly orders executions, including for tweets.

Apple hosts "a Saudi app that allows men to track the movement of their wives and daughters. In 2019, Mr. Cook said he would investigate the app, but it is still available today."

Companies have found employees can be just as productive when working remotely. And they’re happier too.
Employers are perfecting their flexible work arrangements. They’re making in-person time strategic and ensuring new employees don’t feel isolated.

The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP

You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670

Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem

If you’re angry about “your money” feeding people but not angry it’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy?

You’re doing their dirty work.

College football is so much more fun with the rituals and traditions. Student and alumni energy is also unbeatable. The homecoming weekend was fun, topped off by the Michigan Marching Band’s hattip to Creedence Clearwater Revival halftime show. #GoBlue

#Monktoberfest was the first time all four authors were together since we started writing this book. Pictures were taken of this magic, but not by me.

Anyway, pre-orders are love, and you can support your local bookshop from ordering here: bookshop.org/p/books/prog...

After almost 6 years, I broke my #Duolingo streak because of how they wrecked the usage for free users. I was a paying user for a several of those years before I switched to Free as they kept ruining the ux.

Some incredibly good news:

One year ago this week, The Onion returned to print.

In that one year, we’ve grown to the 13th largest print newspaper in the United States, just ahead of the Boston Globe, and growing fast.

In short, it’s working.

So… thank you. Thank you for helping save this thing.

I have seen an increasing number of "experts" pontificating lately. It is easy to regurgitate theoretical concepts; a quick internet search can do that for you. And heck, GenAI tools can pontificate more eloquently than you do.

I see takes from engineers that say that the current AI tools are adequate to basically write almost no code; you just need to invest in learning the tools. It's just really jarring because it doesn't match my experience at all. I can't remember a single time AI gave me more than 10% that was usable
