DURING hook-up sex tonight this guy asked me what the difference was between Webster's and American Heritage dictionaries, and this, friends, is why I miss wordless anonymous alleyway hookups of the 80s.
Me, in a Lyft with a friend, going over the Neponset, in full Northern Cities Vowel Shift: “we are going over the Neponset”

Him: don’t say it that way.

I also metaphorically think of it as like the US interstate system that irrevocably destroyed countless downtowns and communities beginning in the 1950s. With very few exceptions, once the roadways were there, there was no turning back. Cities that fought freeways have really lovely intact areas.
Love to see community action against this AI nonsense! neighborhoodview.org/2025/11/13/d...

Perhaps the straights should rethink their skeets about blow-jobs between two adult men before hitting send.

There are many valid thoughts you might have about the participants and the geopolitical ramifications thereof, but you can do so without the homophobic framing.

I’m behind a garbage truck in traffic and the driver got out and came to the back to throw an empty fast food bag into the maw, and I thought, how convenient.

I don’t have the bent for homonormative jokes.
I don't have the time for horological jokes.
This isn't the right time for prognostication jokes.

For me it’s “Can You Picture That?” from The Muppet Movie
as someone who already has Neil Young singing “aurora borealis” as a recurring intrusive thought, today is shaping up to be my greatest psychic battle

He hasn’t moved in 30 minutes. Should I be concerned about Old Ones that might be lurking under the cabinets?

(Please don’t judge me for the fact that there are two q-tips on the floor in the background.)

The next time I teach an acting class I'm going to assign the monologue that the hotel maid delivers while the protagonist and the prostitute are nakedly making out on the bed behind her.

Nothing makes you realize how dense and close-in everything in Boston is until you’re out in the harbor. (On an hourlong tour. It’s really cool seeing Boston from the water.)

One really good band from the 70s people don’t talk about much is THE ADVERTS.

I first heard them in the mid-80s on a low wattage FM radio station near Farmington Hills which you could only get for about 10 miles along 275. I wish I had heard them back when I was in high school.

For 2028 I would like a sequel where 88-year-old Katherine Ross and 84-year-old Sam Elliott pass on the legacy …
Watching THE LEGACY (1978). Love Sam Elliott’s mustache. Watched this a lot after school in the early 80s - probably haven’t seen in close to 30 years.

SAM ELLIOTT TAKES A SHOWER. You can see butt!

No wonder I watched this so much.

Oops I guess it's time for an update:

Bunny thought, probably, as he was pushed into the ravine, that trillionaires are just 1,000-billionaires, but he thudded dead before checking his math, which he would have asked Henry to do, anyway.

I turned the RUDE setting from Hide to Warn, but I'm not seeing any posts with rude warnings -- I fully expected the people I follow to be MUCH RUDER.
