Seeing the UK and SK news this morning. Wow. It’s almost as if other countries don’t understand these are things that should make someone get into office, not jail.

A.I. is the great enabler, finally removing the gatekeepers so that people without the talent or ideas can finally have their version of someone else’s voice heard.
Guess what fuckers, the flip side to "ideas are all that matters" is IDEAS ARE HARD
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

Whoa. An article by @taylorlorenz.bsky.social in Richardson A12. That’s a cool surprise.

Not the article I expected from @joshgondelman.bsky.social but anything he does is an instant read/watch for me.
The nice people at Playboy asked me to write something about the good parts about being married, and I was happy to. :)

God, this annoys me. If you “don’t know” then the precautionary principle applies. You either accept that it’s possible and behave as if you’ve created a novel consciousness with rights, and your company is now essentially a nature reserve/maternity ward… OR…

Put most bluntly:

If you want nice things, and if you want to keep our constitutional republic, then we must all work together to

There is simply no alternative.

If Americans of every make and model can’t agree to say “there are pedophiles in all ranks of our government and every party and among the upper classes, they should all go to jail and be replaced by those who refuse to look the other way” then wtf is left to agree on in this country?

over a year ago, i gave a talk at the xoxo conference about a mural, a mcdonald’s, and a man. (but it was also secretly about life, and legacy, and meaning.)

finally, i’m blogging the full story, with behind-the-scenes details, and a video of the talk.

At least some of the a.i. problems would be cleared up if it don't produce text that appears to be written by a sentient being. It should produce the same type of text as an ATM, a self-checkout, or a gas pump.

Money is like liquid mercury. Seems cool, but weighs a lot, and is hard to hold. It’s fine and good and natural in natural amounts but once you decide to hoard it and get a significant amount, it seeps into your blood and destroys your brain.
